DAY 1
DEPART
Depart Queenstown at 8am, arriving in Glenorchy by 9.15am at The Trading Post. You can leave your bags here, grab a coffee/breakfast/snacks and a map to explore the village. Staff are happy to answer any questions.
Wander the stunning Glenorchy lagoon boardwalk, go back in time on the heritage trail, take your photo with the big red wharf shed, relax and enjoy being surrounded by mountains.
The Kinloch Lodge boat will meet you at the wharf for 12.30pm and you'll be whisked across Lake Wakatipu to a mouthwatering sharing lunch platter with a view.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
Your afternoon can involve a guided kayak trip on Lake Wakatipu, our hot tub with mountain views, hiring a bike or fishing rod, meandering along the nature walk or relaxing in various places around the site.
RELAX
Your night includes a delicious 3 course dinner in the Kinloch Lodge restaurant and a room in our historical heritage lodge.
DAY 2
WALK
The next day starts with a hearty breakfast of your choosing and collecting a packed lunch. Our 9.30am van will take you to the Routeburn Shelter for 10am and pick you up at 4.30pm, giving you enough time to hike to the gorgeous views from the Falls hut, and get back.
RELAX
Upon your return at 5pm you'll have time to soak in the hot tub, or an old-style claw footed bath tub, to freshen up before your well deserved 3 course dinner and another night in the heritage lodge.
DAY 3
ENJOY
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with our stunning surroundings and spend the morning as you wish. You can wander along the lake shore, give your legs a rest and explore Lake Wakatipu with our kayak guide, or treat yourself to some delicious homemade baking and a good book!
RETURN
Our boat whisks you across to Glenorchy at 12.15pm where you meet your 3pm bus back to Queenstown. You can leave bags at The Trading Post while you see any sights you missed on your first day; the bus leaves from here and lunch is available.
Earlier return times to Queenstown can be arranged if needed. The boat is weather dependent so if we are unable to run an alternative will be offered.
